Yesterday Paizo announced that they are going to stick with the 3.5 system for thier Pathfinder products. In addition they are going to produce thier own ruleset under the OGL called Pathfinder.
They are going to have an open playtest going on until the final release in August 2009. The Alpha playtest document was released yesterday and is availiable on the Paizo website. The beta document is scheduled to be released in August 2008.
I have looked at it and it looks ok for an alpha release. I think they overpowered the races and classes a little bit if they intend to remain compatible with my shelves of other 3.5 material. Some of the feats are flat out broken as well, such as weapon swap. |

| one potentially cool thing they did was to make clerics turning abilities into healing as well. If I implement this into my game I would probably have to disallow the healing reserve feat though. |

been going through it on my lunch. There are things that look interesting as well as wierd things.
It really feels like somebodys house rules and is very much an alpha release. |

| Fixing DnD while remaining compatible with v3.5 may not be possible to do. |
